Chemin Incertain

UNCERTAIN PATH

The installation CHEMIN INCERTAIN presents a flock of cranes, standing for refugees. After long flight, they appear to have arrived; on their slender steel limbs they form a broad spiral in the cloister garden of the Benedictine Convent Sainte-Bathilde in Vanves–Paris. The original statements written on the wings tell of an arduous, often appalling escape route, but also of hope for a better life in a new land.

A cross of paper paving stones forms the end of this path, symbolizing both suffering and joy – as well as faith, love and hope.
