The world is in on the move, politically, geographically, physically. More and more people have to or want to leave their homes. Wars, poverty, environmental pollution, oppression are the main reasons. The crucial thing is that these pressures or desires have taken on enormous proportions. The Indian who leaves his home village doesn‘t want to go to Chennai, he dreams of Houston and Dubayy; refugees from Sri Lanka turn up in Southern India or Canada. In Berlin refugees gather from Turkey, Chechnya, Georgia, Syria, Togo, Angola, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Kosovo. › Link to the exhibition

The three-dimensional wall installation TRANSMIGRATION traces out these global migrations. Fragments, forms, colours of passports, identity documents, applications, photos, etc. supply the initial material, extending into space.
The work has been exhibited in the Galerie Forum der Kunst Heidelberg, Germany, the Städtische Galerie im Saalbau, Berlin and in the French Dome on Berlins Gendarmenmarkt.
